Corporate Capture of Government (#69): Submission to Senate enquiry on Australia Post Retail Network
This provides an example of how corporate capture of government works.
Submissions on this particular topic can still be made today, if you get in quick. See details below.
Post Offices perform a vital community service across the country, especially in rural and remote areas. This must not be degraded for the sake of short-term commercial profit.
Post Offices services provide the backbone that allows for so much other activity to exist across the breadth of the country. The government has a responsibility to ensure continuity of provision of those services, regardless of their apparent commercial profitability to the organisation that is at the end of the supply chain providing them.
Applying commercial profitability logic to just that end point is false economy. It is microscopic small-minded logic that ignores broader community viability issues. The excuse that “private corporations must be able to make a profit” is myopically allowing capture of government by for-profit private interests at the expense of the public common good and common property. If it isn’t profitable for the end organisation providing the service, then it’s the privatisation that is the problem that needs to be fixed.
The two shareholding ministers must simply veto the current management’s proposal and hold them accountable for performing their community service obligations, which should have been non-negotiable. It seems that it is government mismanagement of the privatisation that is the real problem. The privatisation arrangements need to be fixed quickly before any further irretrievable damage is done. Post Offices support so much local employment and community services that they cannot be allowed to wither from lack of Ministerial understanding and support.
The privatisation model is a disaster for natural monopolies that should remain in government hands for the benefit of all the people. Such services will always be uneconomic in rural and remote areas. Retention of these services is vital for the continued population and internal security of our country and rural industries. It is the responsibility of the shareholding Ministers to ensure that not a single Post Office is closed. That service must not be allowed to become a glorified hole in the wall parcel post station. All Post Offices must retain full services including banking and cash.
It is the responsibility of these Ministers to protect the public interest against predatory private practices, such as private enterprise always attempts – to shift responsibility for provision of uneconomic services off to the public purse. These Ministers must do their job. They must not be allowed to mis-manage public assets in a way that potentially secures lucrative post-political career positions for themselves with the very private sector interests that proposals such as this will benefit.
This move by the Australia Post board needs to be recognised for what it is – emasculation of local communities by grossly overpaid accountants/ parasitic CEOs and directors seeking profit and bonuses by stripping public assets, which they can only do while morally excusing themselves under the banner of benefitting their shareholders. But, in this case, there are only two shareholders – and they are both Ministers supposedly representing the people! This must be stopped immediately. The whole board must be sacked and replaced with much lower paid people prepared to manage in a more holistic, less myopic, less self-serving way for community benefit.
This is also the not-so thin end of the Digital ID/ enslavement/ total loss of freedom wedge being driven into the people by corporate for-profit interests capturing governments world-wide through incentivising them to ignore blatant theft of public assets. It’s the oldest plundering scam in the private enterprise playbook, sniffing out the honey pot of the biggest and most accessible money source on earth – government coffers! It’s on repeat and our supposed government representatives keep allowing it. What’s even more concerning is how easily this can be commandeered by the world controlling psychopaths in pursuit of their world-wide eugenic agenda, supposedly saving the planet from the people on it.
All existing Post Offices must be kept open and providing the full range of services including banking and provision of cash.

AusGovCORP had (and has) no Lawful right to sell off any of Our Commonwealth, tax payer funded and built assets in the very first instance
All of the ‘asset stripping’ was done by Grand Deception under a Colour of Law hidden behind legalese jargon invented by all the BAR (guild association) members that have infiltrated Our Parliaments over the last 50 or so years while no-one was paying attention
“one cannot serve two masters” so who or what is it these Political parasites serve while they pretend to be working for us (The Commonwealth) as they fleece and entrap us every day Aussies into (incorporated) Debt-Slavery and at the same time reward themselves with huge sums of fraudulent, Ill-Gotten Gains as the country itself crumbles all around us?
